Hi, I am Sharon Thompson, the Manager here at Sunningdale Preschool. We have a great team who are all passionate about enhancing each and every child's early years experience. Our team brings fun, experience, knowledge and skills together with a real caring and fun attitude in their roles. The staff work hard to create an environment which enables our Pre-Schoolers to thrive in their early years. At present we have 11 full time staff and 2 part time, 10 who work at Pre-School and 3 who work at Afterschool Club, all of who are fully qualified.  All staff hold first aid certificates. Let me introduce my team....

Our Staff

Sharon Thompson

Hi, I am Sharon Thompson - Manager

I have been involved in Sunningdale Pre-School since 1994, first as a parent when my 2 boys joined Pre-School, then joining the committee and helping out during sessions.

When my youngest son went to school in 1998, I joined Pre-School as an assistant.  I went to college and gained my Diploma in Pre-School Practice, Level 3 in 2000. I have been Manager since 2004. In November 2009 I gained a Level 5 Management Diploma.

I enjoy managing the close team at Pre-School, who I feel are the true asset of Pre-School. In Oct 2018 Pre-School was recognised as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.  Pre-School and its staff have, in my eyes, always been outstanding! I am proud of the high reputation that Pre-School has in this community and of the changes that have been achieved over the past years to meet the growing needs of families; making it a wonderful, inviting and stimulating environment for children to thrive, grow and have fun!.

Kirsty Wheatley

Hi, I am Kirsty Wheatley - Deputy & Room Manager.

I have worked at Pre-School since 2001 and have 2 grown up children; a son and a daughter.

After joining Pre-School as an assistant I was encouraged to go back to college and gain my DPP Level 3 Qualification. Over the years my role at Pre-school has varied from a shared deputy role with Pat and now I am Deputy & Room Manager.  I work closely with all staff, planning activities based around supporting the children's needs, development, next steps as well as managing our general day to day routine.

Working with the children is so fulfilling and rewarding; watching them grow and develop into their own individual little characters.  No day at Pre-School is ever the same!  Our amazing environment has evolved into something wonderful over the years; our Pre-School room, outdoor area and Forest School, offer the children such fantastic learning opportunities.  We have a wonderful team of ladies who all have unique qualities and areas of expertise; they make Sunningdale Pre-School a warm, nurturing and exciting place it is today.

Patricia Marrable

Hi, I am Patricia Marrable - Development Manager.

“I have had the pleasure of working in this wonderful Pre-school for 24 years. The joy and privilege of caring for and educating our ‘little people’ and building strong bonds with their parents remains at the heart of my work. I have fulfilled many roles including shared Deputy with Kirsty, Supervisor and currently as Development Manager; a role I particularly love as it enables me to help support and develop all the children and our amazing team of staff. I am immensely proud to say I am a part of Sunningdale Pre-School.

Ann Offield

Hi, I am Ann Offield - Creative Co-Ordinate & Qualified Assistant.

I have been teaching at Sunningdale Pre-school for 18 years.
I have two children, George and Liam, although both grown up now I am proud to say they both started their school journey at Sunningdale Pre-school.
For the past 6 years, I have been Creative Coordinator, bringing my continuing passion for the creative arts into Pre-school, nurturing the children’s creative learning and giving them the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas and wonderful work.
Forest school has become an inspirational place to explore; being surrounded by nature, enhancing the children’s development further through the visual, tactile and sensory materials.
I enjoy working closely with families to ensure they feel part of their child’s journey through Pre-school.

Lydia Baker

Hi, I am Lydia Baker - Qualified Assistant.

I have 3 children who all came to Pre-School and like them, I loved being part of Pre-School.  Once my youngest was there i enjoyed being able to help out.  I was then very fortunate to join the team as a member of staff; an opportunity which i jumped at!  I have a level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Persons Workforce which i gained in June 2012.

I really enjoy working with the children, caring and supporting them in their development.  I especially enjoy the physical and music and movement activities.

Clare Redhead

Hi, I am Clare Redhead - Qualified Assistant.

I have been working in childcare since gaining my NNEB Diploma in 1992.  I worked as a private nanny for many years before starting my own family.  I now have 3 boys of my own; two at secondary school and one at primary school.

Working with children has always been my passion and I've been fortunate enough to have continued on my chosen career path alongside being a Mum; working in a creche for 15 years and spending time in a day nursery before joining the Pre-School team in 2014.

I enjoy all aspects of my role but in particular building relations with all the children and their families.

Emma Potter

Hi, I am Emma Potter - Qualified Assistant.

I am delighted to have joined Sunningdale Pre-school as a level 2 assistant.  I have worked in childcare for 17 years and 1 have 2 grown up children.  The staff, children and parents at Pre-school have all made me so welcome; its lovely to become part of a great team.

Lucy Sexton

Hi, I am Lucy Sexton - Qualified Assistant.

I have always enjoyed being in Early Years.  I started in my first nursery when I left school and went on to do my training.  I'm qualified to level 4 in Early Years Practice and hope to progress further over the years.  I took a break in November 2010 to have my 2 beautiful children; I spent my time being a Mummy but couldn't leave the nursery nurse in me to one side so bought the EYFS into my home for my children. Now they are both at school I decided to return and carry on my passion within Sunningdale Pre-School.  I started at Sunningdale Pre-School in February 2016

Tracey Hembrow

My name is Stacy Temple and I have 2 children aged 7 and 4 years. My youngest has recently left Pre-School to start her adventures at big school. Having seen the wonderful environment of Sunningdale Pre-School, and together with my 20 years experience in childcare, I was delighted to become part of the team.

I obtained my NNEB diploma in nursery nursing in 1998, and since then I have spent time nannying across the world. I am very much looking forward to sharing my experiences, as well as expanding my early years knowledge

I am excited to start my Pre-School journey with this wonderful team, where no 2 days (or 2 children) are ever the same.

Hi, I am Tracy Duncan - Afterschool Coordinator.

I have worked at the Afterschool club since October 2012.  During the day I am a teaching assistant in reception at Holy Trinity School where i have been for the past 6 years.  Before starting at Holy Trinity I gained my NNEB and worked at a Nursery in Windlesham.
